VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 27, 2009) - Kobex Resources Ltd. (Kobex) (TSX VENTURE:KBX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Anthonie Luteijn as Director of the Company.

Mr. Luteijn is a Mining Consultant and brings over 40 years of experience as a mining engineer with experience in evaluation, engineering, construction, start-up and operation of mines internationally. Mr. Luteijn has held positions including Project Manager for the development of the Kidston, Porgera and Misima mines for Placer Dome Inc. As well, he was Manager of Evaluations for Placer Dome Inc.

Mr. Luteijn was Vice President, Development and Operations for both Sutton Resouces Ltd. and Canico Resource Corp. He was responsible for the construction of the Bulyanhulu gold mine in Tanzania for Sutton and the initial development of the Onca Puma nickel project in Brazil. Mr. Luteijn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Utrecht, The Netherlands and a Master of Engineering in Mining from the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Luteijn has been appointed to serve on the Company's Audit and Compensation Committees. Mr. Luteijn has been granted incentive stock options to purchase 70,000 common shares of the Company for a period of 5 years at a price of $0.29 per share.

Mr. King, President, stated that, "We are pleased to have been able to attract someone with Mr. Luteijn's capabilities. His strong operating and engineering background will assist the Company in meeting the challenge of identifying and assessing new mine development opportunities."

The Company also announces that it has granted incentive stock options to directors, employees and consultants of the Company for the purchase of an additional of 600,000 common shares for a period of 5 years at a price of $0.29 per share being the closing price of the Company's shares on yesterday date.
