KOCCA Steps Up to Activate Export of Korean Broadcast Contents Through ATF 2010 Korean Pavilion

19 Companies Participating in the Broadcast Pavilion, 5 in 3D/VFX Pavilion

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA--(Marketwire - December 7, 2010) - Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA, President & CEO Jae-woong Lee) is installing and operating a Korean Pavilion at 'ATF (Asia TV Forum) 2010,' the Asian broadcasting contents market, in order to contribute to the export of domestic broadcasting materials and to promote their competitiveness in the global market.

ATF is a representative international event celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, and is evaluated to be growing by the year by pursuing internal operational stability through thorough management of buyers. The latest event is held for 3 days from December 8 to 10 at Suntec Convention Center in Singapore, and is sponsored by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA). Last year, 740 companies from 53 countries participated in this event, with the trade amount recorded at 88.7 million dollars.

This Korean Pavilion is operated as the Broadcast Pavilion, participated by 19 companies related to broadcast import/export, and 3D/VFX Pavilion participated by 5 producers of 3D/VFX. KOCCA is planning to make use of this operation of the Korean Pavilion to develop various marketing activities for continued proliferation of the Korean wave and to provide opportunities of forming human networks for front-line industries.

Furthermore, KOCCA is scheduled to make a presentation on Korea's 3D industry at the 3D Seminar held on the second day of the event. The 3D Seminar was newly established as ATF's official program after 3D contents came into the spotlight as a key issue in the global contents market. Experts in the field of 3DTV, such as Beach House Pictures, NHNZ Ltd and Real Vision, will participate in presentation debates on the trend and vision of the global 3DTV industry. As for Korea, Producer Hye-rim Kim of HD Media will make a presentation on the current status of Korea's 3D industry, and also introduce Korea's key productions and contents.

Jae-woong Lee, CEO of KOCCA, said, "The government of Singapore is highly interested in co-producing 3D/VFX contents and attracting investments with Korea, and is recently promoting the Asia Branch for global contents companies," and that "KOCCA is accordingly utilizing ATF, which is widely participated by Asian and European buyers, to induce P.R. and investment in Korean contents and production technology."

The ATF Korean Pavilion's Broadcast Pavilion is participated by 4 terrestrial broadcasting companies (KBS Media, MBC, SBS Contents Hub, EBS), 5 cable broadcasting companies (On Media, CJ Media, CU Media, Mnet Media, Arirang TV), and 10 independent distributor/production companies (Kenny&Co, KBSi, AVA Entertainment, Lian Contents, Daehan Mediaworld, Everyshow, Korea Cinetel, AK Entertainment, Playncast, Interconmedia), while the 3D/VFX Pavilion is participated by 5 3D/VFX contents production companies (3D Plan, BIG I Entertainment, CJ PowerCast, Korea HD Broadcasting Corporation, SAMG Animation).
