KOCH Records to Release Nina Hagen's Classic, Out of Print Album, "Fearless," on February 13th, 2007

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 18, 2007 -- KOCH Records announces the reissue of "Fearless" by Germany's punk Nina Hagen. One of her most popular titles, "Fearless" has long been out of print and will be available for the first time on CD.

Born in Berlin's eastern sector on March 11th, 1955, Nina Hagen's flamboyant career as an actress and composer was shaped by her early experiences in turbulent East Germany. Hagen toured constantly and morphed through as many incarnations as chameleon David Bowie: affectionate mother, passionate animal rights activist, chanteuse, confrontational actress, political agitator. In an era defined by one-dimensional disco divas and incomprehensible punk rockers, Hagen stood out as a unique voice which advocated women's liberation before it became fashionable to do so. In 1982 Hagen moved to New York City, and recorded her first English language album, "Nunsexmonkrock," which signaled her breakthrough into the U.S. market. Densely textured, surreal, and poetic, "Nunsexmonkrock" was unlike anything else in musical history, an intelligent New Wave album with deeply religious subtexts.

Originally released in 1984, "Fearless" generated two major club hits in America, "Zarah" and the disco/punk/opera classic, "New York New York." Hagen enlisted Girogio Mororder and Keith Forsey to produce "Fearless" (the album was intially released as "Angstlos" in German; released with English vocals as "Fearless" in 1984).
