Kodak Uses Powered Inc to Put Branded Community Features Into Action

Kodak the First to Use Powered's Project Center and Facebook Connect Implementations

  • Powered, the social marketing company, today announces the first implementations of their most recent innovations for branded communities: Project Centers and Facebook Connect integration. Kodak, the world's foremost imaging innovator, has incorporated both as part of their newly-launched "Tips & Projects Exchange" community.

  • Powered's Project Centers provide a structured way for any community's members to submit "do it yourself projects" and be able to browse, filter and sort others' projects. Community members upload their own projects, with instructions, and templates that allow fellow members to try the projects themselves. Members can also rate and comment on projects, creating a fully formed sharing and feedback forum for brand enthusiasts. Kodak's Tips & Projects Exchange, for example, focuses on photography and scrapbooking projects, something unique among online photography communities. Other communities might focus on recipe exchanges, healthy living tips or travel recommendations. This allows for a continued stream of rich, educational content within Powered communities, resulting in a corresponding increase in member engagement, loyalty and brand advocacy.

  • Powered offers Facebook Connect integration to all of its platform customers. Key features include the ability to:
    • Extend existing Facebook account credentials, eliminating the need for additional pass codes;

    • Implicitly share community content activity with Facebook friends (e.g., photo uploads, course ratings, etc.);

    • Explicitly share community content with Facebook friends;

    • Extend community site invitations to Facebook friends;

    • Quickly and easily view other Facebook friends who are also members of the site and view site content that these friends have created; and,

    • Use existing Facebook profile settings, such as avatars, in their site profiles.

    • Facebook's statistics show the increased effectiveness of Facebook Connect, including increased registration of 30% to 200% and a 15% to 100% increase in user-generated reviews.*

  • Powered's Facebook Connect integration allows Kodak Tips & Projects Exchange members to more easily share projects, extend invitations and provide activity updates to existing Facebook friends. This spreads awareness outside the community walls among new and existing members.

  • Other elements of the Powered platform featured in Kodak's Tips & Projects Exchange include:
    • Professional content centered on photography and scrapbooking;

    • Discussion forums allow community members and Kodak professionals to share photography and scrapbooking tips and other relevant information freely with each other; and,

    • An active Kodak presence in the community to answer questions, post new information and participate in discussions.
