KOMO-TV Wins Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - March 3, 2011) - Fisher Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSCI), a leader in local media innovation, announced today its flagship television station, KOMO-TV (ABC) in Seattle, has been recognized by The USC Annenberg School, the Norman Lear Center and Reliable Resources for its broadcast political coverage with the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism in the Local Broadcast/Large Market category for 2010.

The award recognizes journalistic excellence in political coverage by television stations that help viewers understand their electoral choices by profiling candidates and issues in innovative ways. The award is named for Walter Cronkite, one of the most influential broadcast journalists of the twentieth century.

The awards ceremony will be April 26, 2011 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
