Konecranes Excels in Leadership Development, According to Chief Executive Magazine

For the First Time in 2016, Chief Executive Magazine Has Included Konecranes in Their Year-End List of World-Class Public Companies That Excel in Leadership Development

SPRINGFIELD, OH--(Marketwired - January 20, 2016) - Konecranes is ranked 34th on Chief Executive's annual compilation of the top 40 public companies who do the most to identify and nurture future leaders within their ranks. The magazine's survey includes public companies with over $1 billion in revenue. Rankings are affected by a company's reputation among its peers as a source for well-rounded talent. The percent of senior management recruited from internal talent pools is another criterion.

"While Konecranes is well known globally for its innovative lifting technologies, it is also very rewarding to be recognized for the work we do in developing our people," says Bernie D'Ambrosi, Senior Vice President, Region Americas.

"Our company mantra 'Lifting Businesses' refers to our efforts to increase the value and effectiveness of our customer's business. But the truth is, we are also very focused on lifting up our employees. Those two ideas work well together."

For over 80 years, Konecranes has been dedicated to improving efficiency and performance in all types of industries by providing lifting equipment and services that increase both safety and productivity. Konecranes is the largest manufacturer and service provider of overhead cranes and lifting equipment in the world. In the U.S. and Canada alone, the Konecranes team consists of nearly 2,500 people across 128 locations, with over 12,000 employees worldwide.

Of the companies surveyed by Chief Executive, 83 percent have headquarters in North America and 71 percent have international operations.
