Konecranes Innovative CXT NEO Is No Ordinary Crane

Konecranes CXT NEO Crane Offers 25 Percent Faster Speeds and Safer Handling Options With VFD Drives and Adaptive Speed Range (ASR)

SPRINGFIELD, OH--(Marketwired - March 21, 2016) -  CXT NEO, the latest offering from global overhead crane industry leader Konecranes, could be a game-changer for manufacturers who need a crane that excels at quickly moving light loads like supplies and components, and yet can still be counted on to move heavy assembled products or machines with accuracy. Designed with safety in mind, the CXT NEO has a wealth of standard features that are sure to make crane buyers take notice.

"CXT NEO is redefining the standard for a customer's operation, with standard features that can deliver years of improved productivity and enhanced safety," says Edward Di Cesare, Director of Marketing, Industrial Equipment, Region Americas. CXT NEO is available in capacities up to 12.5 tons or 25 tons with two hoists and an optional "Hoist Synchro" feature.

CXT NEO is powered by Konecranes VFD inverter drive technology, ASR that delivers up to 25 percent faster speed for loads at 10 percent of full load capacity. Since the majority of loads lifted are well below 50 percent of the crane's full capacity, the ASR feature allows many manufacturers to jump-start productivity by operating at faster speeds than a crane without the ASR feature. Under heavier loads the crane automatically adjusts to a slower speed to improve handling accuracy. The ASR feature allows the crane to deliver the right speed at the right time.

Significantly diminished load sway is another benefit of ASR, which is standard on CXT NEO. When even greater precision is needed, customers can add additional Konecranes "Smart Features" such as Sway Control or Protected Areas.

According to Di Cesare, safety and ergonomics were important priorities when Konecranes designed and introduced the CXT NEO. An "energy chain" track replaces the power cable festoon system, which is a real benefit because it increases the work area and could eliminate festoons from becoming tangled with products or the building. CXT NEO also comes standard with a radio remote control, which gives the operator the ability to work from a position that is farther away from the load or the crane.

CXT NEO comes with a three-year standard warranty, plus three years of Konecranes TRUCONNECT® Remote Monitoring with safety alerts at no extra charge.

"Through TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring, Konecranes is connected to the crane, gathering usage data like running time, motor starts, work cycles and brake condition. Then, we can schedule service based on crane usage," says Di Cesare. "Customers can also benefit from safety alerts. An email or text message is sent to the customer, notifying them of events such as hoist overloads, emergency stops and over-temperatures. This information will allow the customer to assess the situation and possibly address operating training requirements or process issues."

According to Di Cesare, CXT NEO with all of its standard features will be still be competitively priced in its class.

"We expect that companies that value safety, productivity, durability and quality will want to take a look at what CXT NEO can do for their operation," says Di Cesare.
