Korean Air Chairman Yang-Ho Cho to Speak at TOWN HALL Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 11, 2010) -  Yang-Ho Cho, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Korean Air will address TOWN HALL Los Angeles with the keynote "Planes, Cranes and Change," during a noon luncheon on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Wilshire Grand Hotel. Downtown development, the importance of LAX and the state of the airline industry are topics Angelenos will learn more about and question during the audience Q&A session.

Korean Air is a partner in the development of downtown Los Angeles with its plans for a billion-dollar development on the southwest corner of Wilshire and Figueroa. "It's exciting to see all the activity, and I'm optimistic about downtown. The Figueroa corridor, anchored by LA Live, is becoming a popular entertainment and dining district. The Wilshire Grand project will add beautifully to the mix," said Cho. Korean Air acquired the Wilshire Grand Hotel in 1989.

On doing business in the current economic crisis, Cho stated, "We planned for this and are investing in people, products and markets to make us stronger in the future. For example, we're promoting more 6th freedom markets to get Americans to travel through Korea to other destinations. We're also the world's largest cargo airline, and with Korean products more popular than ever, we're setting records."

Korean Air is the largest Asian airline flying out of LAX. It operates a fleet of 130 aircraft with 100 flights per week from the Americas and globally serves 117 cities in 39 countries. It is the South Korean flag carrier and a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance.

Having held various positions at Korean Air since 1974, Cho was named chairman and CEO of the airline in 1999. He is also chairman of the transportation conglomerate, Hanjin Group and serves on the board of trustees for the University of Southern California and the International Airport Transport Association.
