Kyushu Electric Performs Emergency Shutdown of Unit 4 at Genkai Nuclear Power Station, an Industrial Info News Alert

KOFU-SHI, JAPAN--(Marketwire - Oct 6, 2011) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources East Asia (Kofu-shi, Japan) -- On Tuesday, Kyushu Electric Power Company Incorporated (TYO:9508) (Kyuden) (Fukuoka, Japan) reported that it was forced to shut down Unit 4 at Genkai nuclear power station. The unplanned shutdown comes in the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi accident and brings Japan's nuclear fleet to 10 operational reactors. Genkai, located in Saga prefecture, represents four of Kyuden's six nuclear reactors, with the remaining two located at Sendai nuclear power station in Kagoshima prefecture.
