L2 Consulting Services, Inc. Receives FAA Supplemental Type Certificate for Iridium SATCOM on 767 Series Aircraft

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Jan 6, 2014) - L2 Consulting Services, Inc. (L2) is pleased to announce that the company has received a Federal Aviation Administration Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the installation of the International Communications Group, Inc. (ICG) Iridium Communications System on 767 series aircraft. The STC allows for the installation of the ICG NxtLink Series ICS-120A and ICS-220A line replaceable units. Both devices deliver a comprehensive communications system that provides the Flight Crew with an exclusive global voice channel and a dedicated Datalink channel to support Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS), Future Air Navigation System (FANs) messaging, Automatic Dependent Surveillance Contract (ADS-C) and Controller Pilot Data Link Communication (CPDLC).

L2 Senior Director of Technical Services Michael Eiras said, "The recent addition of the Iridium Communications System STC on the 767 aircraft further complements our existing portfolio of SATCOM installations on the 737, 747, 757 and 777 aircraft."

L2 developed all of the integration engineering, initialized and managed the STC regulatory process, produced the installation kits and provided overall project management along with the "return to service" field installation services for an undisclosed VVIP customer.
