La Fromagerie Champêtre Inc. Receives $295,000 for Productivity Enhancement

LE GARDEUR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 2, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that La Fromagerie Champêtre Inc. has been granted $295,000 in repayable funding to acquire specialized equipment, including dairy tanks, and produce a new type of cheese.

"The Government of Canada is always ready to support enterprises that, like La Fromagerie Champêtre, are making the effort to increase their productivity and become more competitive," said Minister Lebel.

La Fromagerie Champêtre is a family-run business operating in the highly-competitive agri-food sector. The company specializes in the manufacture of cheddar and fine cheeses for distribution to retailers, restaurants and food services. This new project will enable the firm to offer original, top-quality and competitively-priced products, hold its own against the large food multinationals and expand its sales market.

This financial assistance has been granted through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
