GLA ALA to Host 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates of Los Angeles for Children

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 27, 2012) - An expected 600+ participants, including prominent members of the Los Angeles legal community, will gather to raise funds and awareness for CASA of Los Angeles, a Los Angeles children's support program, through participating in the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators' (GLA ALA) Justice Jog 5K on Sunday, September 30, 2012, beginning at 8 a.m. in Century City at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and Avenue of the Stars.

For a second year, the GLA ALA Justice Jog will benefit CASA of Los Angeles, a nonprofit organization that supports Court Appointed Special Advocates for children in the child welfare system. In 2011, the event raised over $20,000 for the nonprofit, with support from over 600 participants and volunteers.

The event is part of GLA ALA's Community Connection, a community service initiative that encourages the legal community to work together for a local cause. It joins different sectors of the legal community together, including major LA-based law firms, businesses, athletes, families, GLA ALA members and business partners. Award-winning journalist and FOX 11 News Sports Anchor Rick Lozano will serve as event emcee.

Registration to participate is $30 per adult and $15 per child, ages 12 and under, and includes a T-shirt and breakfast.

An expo will be held 7 to 10 a.m. in the plaza of Westfield Century City Shopping Mall.
