La Maison du Chocolat Opens on Wall Street and Presents New Cookbook by Gilles Marchal

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - November 10, 2008) - La Maison du Chocolat will open its third boutique in New York City, located at 63 Wall Street, on November 12th, 2008. The new store embodies La Maison du Chocolat's new aesthetic, motivated by the desire to create a space that inspires sensory, discovery, freedom and luxury.

Since its foundation thirty years ago, La Maison du Chocolat has consistently set the highest standard for chocolate and while the new space maintains a fidelity to the luxurious style, it has been updated in a classic yet contemporary style.

The boutique will feature the traditional chocolate and dessert counter, as well as a Tea Room. The 63 Wall Street boutique is proud to be at the forefront of the revitalization of the Financial District and the expansion of luxury retailers into the area.

In the new boutique clients will have the opportunity to experience the store at their own pace, to walk around a central island to discover the products, to explore the open-access spaces, and to choose the moment at which they would like help from an attendant.

Steeped in the traditions of La Maison du Chocolat, the elegance of the space is expressed through the noble and natural materials. On the walls, a light, burled oak, bronze, and fiber optics create a warm, welcoming and generous atmosphere.

The historic connection with La Maison du Chocolat is evident: the products and the packaging remain unchanged. More emblematically, the space maintains the warmth associated with La Maison du Chocolat, in both the clients' aesthetic experience in the space and in their interactions with the attendants.

The choice to update visual style is an evolution corresponding to the world of today: the desire to restore pleasure and warmth to the act of buying; the understood need for freedom of discovery and the longing for a pressure-free interaction with compliant attendants.

In coincidence with the opening of the new boutique on Wall Street, La Maison du Chocolat announced the publishing of the new cookbook written by its Creative Director Gilles Marchal: "La Maison du Chocolat, Timeless Classics with a Twist." The book includes 36 recipes for pastries and chocolate desserts. It has been published by Aubanel Editors and it's being sold in all La Maison du Chocolat boutiques and on the web at www.lamaisonduchocolat.com.
