LA Phil Live Returns to the Big Screen in Canada at Participating Theatres

Special concert event led by Gustavo Dudamel broadcast live from Venezuela in high-definition

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 31, 2012) - Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX), via our Front Row Centre Events, is pleased to announce a special performance of LA Phil Live can be seen at theatres across Canada. On February 18, 2012, at 5 p.m. ET, 2 p.m. PT, internationally acclaimed music director Gustavo Dudamel returns to his home town of Caracas, Venezuela for a live concert event that will be broadcast in high-definition with 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound. Dudamel will lead the world renowned Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela in Mahler's Symphony No. 8, Symphony of a Thousand. Dudamel will also be joined on stage by multiple choirs and soloists.

This unique LA Phil Live performance, the first not set in the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall, will feature 1,000 musicians on stage in Caracas. Guests watching LA Phil Live at theatres across Canada will also enjoy behind- the-scenes extras that include interviews with Dudamel, soloists and LA Phil musicians and exclusive rehearsal footage via the Backstage Pass feature. John Lithgow, who hosted the June 2011 LA Phil Live performance, will again host.
