Labor Day Activities 2015 in Philadelphia

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwired - Sep 4, 2015) - If you are looking for Labor Day activities TicketNetwork has tickets for a wide-range of events in the Philadelphia area. Labor Day is here and regrettably marks the end of summer. Fortunately those in Philadelphia can look forward to some big events this upcoming weekend. In-state rivals, Temple University and Penn State will kick off their 2015 NCAA football season at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, September 5th. Budweiser's Made in America Music Festival will take place on September 5th and 6th on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and on Labor Day the Atlanta Braves will come to town to play the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Also, Theatre Of The Living Arts will host rapper Lil Durk on Saturday, September 5th and Death Cab for Cutie Sunday, September 6th.

Philadelphia college football fans will be treated to one of the season's biggest rivalry games when the Penn State Nittany Lions visit the Temple Owls at Lincoln Financial Field. This will be the 44th time the two teams have met and last season saw Penn State beat Temple 30-13 at Beaver Stadium. A lot of hype is surrounding this year's game with both teams returning multiple starters, helping to drive demand for Penn State vs Temple tickets. Penn State will return 15 starters including 7 from one of the nation's best defenses. For Temple, 17 starters will return from last year's roster. "This year's rivalry game is anticipated to be highly competitive," says James Hodge, Sports Specialist at TicketNetwork. "32 returning starters from both teams will take the field this Labor Day Weekend and fans can expect see to see football played at a very high level."

The City of Brotherly Love will host Budweiser's 4th annual Made in America Music Festival in 2015. The festival's co-creator Jay Z has included an electric mix of performers that would please even the pickiest of fans. The festival will feature dozens of top performers like Beyoncé, The Weeknd, J. Cole, Big Sean, Nick Jonas, Bassnectar, and Santigold. The festival will feature a specified food truck area, merchandise tents, and an array of beer choices. Made in America will benefit United Ways in the Greater Philadelphia area. Last year's festival generated over $300,000 towards education youth talent development.

If music festivals and college rivalry games don't sound enticing, there are more events happening in Philadelphia. Emerging rap star Lil Durk will be performing on Saturday Night and alternative rock band Death Cab for Cutie will hit the stage Sunday night. On Labor Day the Atlanta Braves will visit the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park at 7:05 P.M. for a divisional matchup.
