Lady Gaga Performs at the Opening of Arquitectonica's SM Mall of Asia Arena

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 19, 2012) - On May 19, 2012 Arquitectonica's highly anticipated SM Mall of Asia Arena opened in Manila, Phillippines. Lady Gaga performed to a sold out crowd on May 21st and 22nd to kick off the arena's grand opening weekend.

The 64,000sqm, six-level, state-of-the-art venue is open year-round and will host an impressive lineup of national and international concerts and events. With 16,000 seats on five levels and a full-house capacity of 20,000, this world-class sports/entertainment complex is an impressive addition to the existing Mall of Asia Complex, and an icon of entertainment for Metro Manila. The Arena forms an integral part of SM Mall of Asia, the second largest mall in the Philippines. The Arena is expected to be the new home of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

The dramatic, eye-shaped Arena with a full glass front rests on a slanted podium, which allows it to hold the large volume of the interior court within a vaulted space. The entire eye functions as a multimedia screen, projecting images of ongoing or future events while creating a dramatic view. The Arena offers a number of VIP-level facilities and amenities for all types of events including: press rooms, multimedia rooms, a lounge at the ground floor, celebrity dressing rooms and team dug-outs for sports events. The Arena has 41 fully furnished, exclusive corporate suites for 16 to 26 people to comfortably watch events.
