Laguna Beach Plastic Surgeon Daniel C. Mills, MD Assumes Role as President of ASAPS

LAGUNA BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 26, 2016) - Orange County plastic surgeon Daniel C. Mills, MD has been voted the new President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) -- a distinguished organization representing more than 2,600 board-certified plastic surgeons in the United States, Canada, and several other countries. His term will run from April 2016 to April 2017, concluding at The Aesthetic Meeting 2017 in San Diego. Prior to this esteemed designation, Dr. Mills previously served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and President-Elect of ASAPS.

Regarding goals he has for the year-long term, Dr. Mills notes that he plans to continue to remain heavily involved in championing for state and local regulations that help ensure the only practitioners performing aesthetic procedures are those who are extensively educated and well-qualified. This includes planning a course as to who utilizes certain equipment and treatments, as well as how these techniques and technologies are marketed to both doctors and patients.

In addition to these initiatives, Dr. Mills says he aims to create a centralized system that can be used to evaluate patient outcomes based on the specific treatment performed and surgical method employed. "My hope is that this will show there are many intricacies of each procedure that could ultimately affect the patient's overall results as well as their safety along the way, and by looking at what was exactly done during each procedure via electronic medical records and data points, we can potentially determine which surgical methods are better for patients in the long run."
