Lakeshore Recycling Systems Ranks 31st on Waste360's 22nd Annual Ranking of the Top 100 Waste & Recycling Companies

The Top 100 Ranks the Largest Waste and Recycling Firms in North America Based on 2014 Revenue

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Jul 7, 2015) - Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS), Chicagoland's leading independent recycling and waste diversion services provider, announced it has been ranked 31st on Waste360's 22nd annual ranking of the top 100 solid waste and recycling companies. The prestigious Waste100 ranking reflects LRS' continuing revenue build as the Chicagoland leader in waste diversion and recycling. The rankings were released formally at WasteExpo last month in Las Vegas.

In 2014, LRS earned more than $110M in revenue fueled by significant expansion of new and existing business in educational, retail, municipal and residential service markets throughout greater Chicago. The company recently announced its three-year waste removal and recycling contract at eight area City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) sites. In late 2013, LRS was awarded a five-year contract to provide waste removal and recycling services at all 658 Chicago Public Schools; the third largest school system in the country.

LRS Chief Executive Officer Alan Handley said the Waste360 ranking is a testament to the passion and dedication of LRS' more than 400 employees and the loyalty of LRS' growing customer base.

"We are pleased to rank so prominently on Waste360's Top 100, and look forward to accelerating our growth and position on future rankings," Handley said. "Our success has always been driven by the relentless dedication of our employees in seeing that the waste and recycling needs of our customers are not only met, but exceeded."

With primary operations in Chicago and its suburbs, Lakeshore Recycling Systems is a diversified company providing commercial, residential, recycling and roll-off waste collection and diversion services to commercial and municipal customers. LRS operates five Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) in Illinois, and is the recipient of Chicago Public Schools' coveted Best Partnership Award for suppliers who demonstrate superior commitment to students and a strong track record of collaboration.

At over 1.6 million recycled tons-per-year, no other independent company in Illinois collects, diverts and recycles as much as LRS.
