LAN Airlines Appoints Vice President North/Central America and Asia

MIAMI--(CCNMatthews - Jul 14, 2005) -

LAN Airlines has appointed Luis Eduardo Riquelme as its new Vice President North/Central America and Asia for the company's passenger division. Based at LAN's North American headquarters in Miami, Riquelme is directly responsible for the airline's passenger operations in the United States, Canada, Central America and Asia, including overseeing sales and marketing, accounting and cost control, operations, reservations and ticket offices, government affairs, human resources, and the carrier's general sales agents throughout these countries.

Riquelme, who joined LAN Airlines nine years ago, was most recently the company's Route Economics Director. Throughout his career with LAN, he continually proved his managerial, economics and financial abilities, resulting in a series of promotions within the company.

Riquelme earned his commercial engineering degree with a minor in economics, followed by a Masters in Economics, from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in Santiago, Chile, where he subsequently taught undergraduate courses.
