VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 8, 2005) -

Attention Business/Sports/Automotive Editors

September 1st marked the day of an event like no other, challenging the "driving" skills of 200 amateur golfers that resulted in one driving away in a brand-new 2006 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE.

Clark Macpherson was declared the 2005 Ultimate Shoot-Out Champion and received the keys to a 2006 Range Rover Sport HSE. The 19-year-old amateur golfer was winner in this unique event where a regulation-size, 6,700 square foot floating golf green created from nearly 400 tons of sand and outfitted with bunkers, sand traps and premium grade turf was positioned approximately 175 yards off the western the tip of Canada Place, floating in the port of Vancouver and nestled between the mountains and the backdrop of downtown Vancouver, BC.

Macpherson's prize, the all-new Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE, designed for fast, long distance driving, is a high-performance SUV providing a dynamic ride combined with exceptional comfort, both on-road and off.

"It was a nail-biting experience to see who was going to be the last golfer left at the end of the day," said Gary Moyer, president of Jaguar Land Rover Canada. "But Clark proved that he had the ultimate drive and now he has the ultimate ride with the Range Rover Sport. It was an honour to hand over the keys to him."

This is an event specifically designed for the average golfer to have a unique opportunity to compete in a televised event and live the dream of being a pro-golfer for a day. Each of the 200 golfers were put through a demanding match play qualifying session that saw only 36 golfers earn their way into the Ultimate Shoot-Out finals.
