Lane Crawford Celebrates Its 165th Anniversary by Looking to the Future

HONG KONG, CHINA--(Marketwired - Aug 7, 2015) - A symbolic 165-year in the making, Lane Crawford, Greater China's leading iconic luxury department store, has always been at the forefront of fashion and luxury lifestyle through its collaborations with some of the most influential names from the worlds of fashion, jewellery, beauty and lifestyle. Lane Crawford now sets its sights on scouting the talents that will define creativity globally for the next 165 years.

Their perspectives are transformed into a series of exclusive designs, capsule collections, artistic installations and uniquely curated product showcases that engage customers to imagine what the future may bring.

The Campaign

German photographer and filmmaker Daniel Sannwald, an emerging and authentic voice in fashion photography, captures the energy of leaping towards the future through a dynamic video starring Chinese model Yang Menghuan and Korean model Noma Han dressed in some of season's most striking pieces. Sannwald captures the point where fashion meets art with a unique narrative that employs vibrant digital effects, slow motion video and a pulsating soundtrack.

The Visionaries Leading the World into the Next 165 Years

Artistic Installations
Innovative Beijing-based architecture and design firm People's Architecture Office presents its vision of the future of modern living through giant twisting metal tubular structures that customers can climb inside to explore a whole other landscape. Hong Kong-based architectural design studio Sky Yutaka has created a mesmerising kinetic installation where the future is a haunting rendition of machine-made beauty, featuring robotic rain flowers that gently furl and unfurl their petals in response to a flowing stream of water. Musical wunderkinds Mimi Xu and Rosey Chan continue to inspire the future of sound with their distinctive take on classical electronica music accompanied by a stunning multisensory visual narrative. Other creative luminaries such as Li Lihong, Angel Chen and Alan Chan have also contributed their visions of what the world will look like in 165 years.

Isabel Marant: Playing With Balance
Known for her maverick yet polished aesthetic creations, Isabel Marant is one of the most celebrated designers of effortless French style. As part of the 165 celebrations, Marant presents a global exclusive 12-piece womenswear and shoe collection specially designed for Lane Crawford.
