LanguageCorps Announces Winners of "The LanguageCorps Experience" SE Asia Video and Photo Contest

STOW, MA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2010) - And the results are in. LanguageCorps, a leading TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) training and certification and placement program for teaching English abroad, has announced the winners of its SE Asia video and photo contest, "The LanguageCorps Experience."

LanguageCorps asked teachers who were teaching English abroad in their programs in Cambodia, China, Thailand and Vietnam to submit videos and photos documenting their LanguageCorps experience. The videos and photos were judged on how well they demonstrated one of two key elements of each LanguageCorps experience: how their personal adventure affected them and how they were able to give back to their new community.

"We enjoyed the many variations on 'The LanguageCorps Experience' and are amazed at the wonderful sights and sounds our teachers have captured while they teach English abroad," said Mike Patton, LanguageCorps Advisor and contest coordinator. "It was a very difficult decision, but we are pleased to announce the winners."

Winners of the photo contest were:

1st Place - Lindsey Mineff (Thailand) - Pattaya album
2nd Place - Chris Johnson (Thailand)
3rd Place - Dirk Knoedler (Cambodia)

Winners of the video contest were:

1st Place - Tie between Michelle Patterson (Thailand) and Ryoko Nishijima (Vietnam)
3rd Place - Gideon Clark (China)

Each of the first place video submissions so thoroughly captured one of the two key elements of the LanguageCorps experience that the judges felt that both should be acknowledged.

The prizes for both the video contest and the photo contest were $350 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place. All winners of "The LanguageCorps Experience" SE Asia video and photo contest, as well as links to all entries, are featured on the LanguageCorps website at www.LanguageCorps.com/contest.php.
