Larada Sciences Settles Patent-Infringement Lawsuits

Lawsuits Against Picky Pam at the Beach and Nitless Noggins Dropped

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwired - May 25, 2016) - Larada Sciences announced today it has settled separate patent-infringement lawsuits against Picky Pam at the Beach and Marcy McQuillan, owner of Nitless Noggins.

The lawsuits had alleged that Picky Pam at the Beach and Nitless Noggins infringed U.S. Patent Numbers 7,789,902 and 8,162,999 by making, using, offering to sell, selling, or importing devices that use heated air to treat lice infestations.

Terms of both settlements were not disclosed. However, Larada Sciences issued the following statement regarding the lawsuit against Picky Pam at the Beach: "Larada Sciences and the University of Utah Research Foundation and Picky Pam at the Beach have mutually agreed to settle their dispute to the mutual satisfaction of the parties. Picky Pam at the Beach will no longer sell, promote, or provide training in the use of the Dehydration Station or any other heated-air device used for treating head lice."

The company also released the following statement regarding the lawsuit against Marcy McQuillan: "Ms. McQuillan and Larada have mutually agreed to settle their dispute to the mutual satisfaction of the parties."

"We are happy to finally have these lawsuits resolved," said Claire Roberts, CEO of Larada Sciences. "It was important to us and all our clinic owners not to have lice-treatment devices on the market that infringed on our intellectual property. Now we can get back to the business of growing our Lice Clinics of America network around the globe."

With clinics in more than 20 countries, Lice Clinics of America (www.LiceClinicsOfAmerica.com) is the largest network of professional lice-treatment centers in the world. Lice Clinics of America and AirAllé (www.airalle.com) are brands owned by Larada Sciences, Inc.
