Large European Auction Part of Eight-Auction Week for Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 27, 2005) - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Incorporated (TSX:RBA)(NYSE:RBA) wrapped up a busy week June 20-25, conducting eight industrial auctions and five smaller agricultural auctions in five countries. The largest auction of the week was conducted at the Company's permanent auction site in Moerdijk (Rotterdam), the Netherlands and generated gross auction sales of more than EURO 24 million (US$29 million).

The three-day unreserved European auction, held June 21-23, drew customers from 54 countries to register and bid on over 3,400 trucks and equipment items. Customers from as far away as New Zealand, Peru, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa registered to participate in the auction. Items up for bid included over 100 excavators, over 30 wheel loaders, and over 20 agricultural tractors.

Other auctions in the week included Phoenix, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; Brisbane and Melbourne, AUS; Olympia, WA; Atlanta, GA; and Livorno, Italy as well as five smaller agricultural auctions in Canada across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
