Largest Public Event in Atlanta This Fall; The Atlanta Camping World/Good Sam Rally

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Aug 20, 2013) - America's largest RV rally celebrates fall in the southeast October 17 through 20 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, a first for the infield of Atlanta's famed 1.54-mile quad-oval track. This event, hosted by Camping World/Good Sam, will bring thousands of RV enthusiasts together to experience world-class evening entertainment, warm southern hospitality, and to shop for hundreds of new RVs, outdoor products, and camping accessories. While celebrating the RV lifestyle, attendees will enjoy fun activities, great food, prizes, and quality time with family and friends.

Attendees who arrive early Wednesday, October 16, for setup get a sneak peek at the vast showcase of recreational vehicles, from modest travel trailers to luxury motorhomes. With the RV market at its best out of the past seven years, an all-time high attendance is expected. Rally-goers will be presented with many opportunities to learn about RVs and the RV industry from manufacturer representatives on-site and seminars.

Entertainment peaks at night with super-star performances starting Friday, October 18, when American icons The Beach Boys will light up the stage with Mike Love leading the band as front man for a night filled with classic surf tunes. Then, Saturday, October 19, 20-time Grammy winner Vince Gill will captivate the audience with his emotionally powerful lyrics and guitar skills. As a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Gill has become the measure of excellence in country music with over 26 million albums sold and various CMA and Academy of Country Music awards. This will be Gill's 2^nd Rally appearance after thrilling the audience at the Oregon Camping World/Good Sam Rally in 2011.

Back by popular demand, Bob Blumer, host of "Surreal Gourmet," "Glutton for Punishment," and producer and host of "World's Weirdest Restaurants" on the Food Network, will perform Friday and Saturday at the Day Stage. Blumer shares his culinary skills by transforming ordinary ingredients into inspiring dishes through simple cooking methods and whimsical presentations, sponsored by Camping World. Dog lovers can participate in the "Release the Hounds" dog show sponsored by Camping World and Good Sam Pet Insurance, and enjoy a professional performance by the K9 Kings Flying Dog Show, which includes the largest meet and greet pet area, the fastest Frisbee dog in the world and the first daredevil dog agility.

An array of optional activities are also organized by the rally, such as an excursion through Atlanta's historic landmarks, rides in a Vietnam-era helicopter, RV safe driver training, and tours of the World of Coca-Cola and the CNN Center.

Rally-goers are encouraged to get involved as "Blanketeers" for the 2013 Rally Blanket Drive to benefit Project Linus. Camping World/Good Sam is partnering with Project Linus to collect blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Campers can participate by knitting, crocheting, quilting, or creating "no sew" fleece blankets.

On Sunday, October 20, rally guests can partake in the Salute to Veterans, which has previously had over 600 veteran participants included in the moving tribute. All military veterans are invited to join in the longstanding tradition of pass and review and are encouraged to wear any part of the original uniform.

The Atlanta Camping World/Good Sam Rally officially opens October 17 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
