Larry Barrett Named Senior Director in MWW Group's San Francisco Office

Former CNET, San Jose Business Journal and Baseline Magazine Journalist to Serve as First Member of MWW Group's "Content Creation Team"

Barrett brings more than 11 years of journalism and investigative reporting experience in the technology industry, writing and editing for business newspapers, magazines, and online publications, including Baseline Magazine, CNET Networks and the San Jose Business Journal. As Senior Director and as the first member of the firm's "Content Creation Team," he will focus his attention on crafting thought leadership and content for MWW Group's clients and will also provide strategic counsel on technology, lifestyle and other business trends.

Prior to joining MWW Group, Barrett served as a senior writer at Baseline Magazine, one of the industry's most acclaimed business technology magazines. During his five-year tenure at Baseline, he was responsible for writing full-length business technology news stories, investigative pieces and case study articles.

Previously, Barrett acted as senior editor and writer for CNET Networks where he wrote analysis, breaking news and opinion stories for its daily online audience of more than two million readers. During his five years with CNET, Barrett was responsible for editing content, writing headlines, developing story ideas and publishing and coordinating news coverage for the financial news site. Barrett's weekly column, "Analyst Watch," was singled out by The Wall Street Journal and Barron's for its coverage of the financial analyst community.

Prior to CNET, Barrett was a technology reporter for the San Jose Business Journal where he was responsible for writing news, feature, profile, analysis and opinion stories for the weekly business newspaper. In 2003 and 2004, Barrett was named the American Society of Business Publication Editors Gold and Bronze Medalist, respectively, in the Case History category in the national division.

Barrett holds a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism-Editing and Reporting from San Jose State University.
