Las Cruces Dental Office Trains in Cone Beam 3D Imaging

LAS CRUCES, NM--(Marketwired - June 01, 2015) - Dr. Harvey Reiter, a leading Las Cruces dental implant provider, has completed a number of continuing education courses on cone beam 3D imaging to better place dental implants.

Cone beam 3D imaging technology is the latest development in dentistry that gives dentists the power to better diagnosis and map out dental treatments. Dr. Reiter’s training focused on how to use cone beam images to analyze the oral cavity and map out dental implant treatments. He recently purchased a Galileos Sirona with cone beam capabilities.

“With cone beam technology, we can surgically place dental implants more precisely, with very little post-op discomfort,” the Las Cruces dentist said. “We also can safely place these implants as we'll be able to recreate the patient's mouth on the computer before doing any surgery.”

Cone beam technology is not typically offered at general dentist offices. The technology is so revolutionary because it can aid in the placement of dental implants but also help diagnose oral health problems and disorders. Dr. Reiter uses dental implants to replace individual missing teeth and stabilize dentures.

“The addition of this technology will increase our ability to accurately diagnose dental issues and provide the highest level of care,” Dr. Reiter said.

Dr. Reiter is a premier sleep apnea dentist who completed a residency on sleep disorders at the University of California in Los Angeles. Advanced Dental of Las Cruces works with a sleep doctor to diagnose sleep apnea disorders. To treat sleep apnea, Dr. Reiter uses a special oral appliance designed to position the jawbone in a more appropriate location that opens the airway during sleep.

Advanced Dental of Las Cruces, 1423 South Don Roser Drive, offers comprehensive dental care. Dr. Reiter provides dental implants for patients with missing teeth or to stabilize dentures; Six Month Smiles and Invisalign to correct alignment issues; sedation dentistry for fearful patients or patients who need multiple treatments in one visit; and sleep apnea treatment solutions.

Dr. Reiter holds memberships with the American Academy of Dental Medicine, Cranio Facial Pain Society, Doctors of Oral Conscious Sedation, Somnomed Sleep Academy, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Sleep Apnea Association. Dr. Reiter graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and has attended hundreds of hours in continuing education and dental residencies on dental implants, sleep apnea, TMD dysfunction, cosmetic dentistry and full-mouth reconstructions.
