Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman Officially Proclaims May 20 as 'GI Jams Day'

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - May 13, 2011) - GI Jams®, the multi-media project and social music network that spotlights and promotes the original songs and performances of U.S. servicemen and women of all military branches, ranks and rates, was launched by hit songwriters, producers, artists Denny Randell and Biddy Schippers.

In recognition of its mission to support our active duty and veteran musical military artists, Oscar B. Goodman, Mayor of Las Vegas, will officially proclaim May 20 as GI Jams Day as a tribute to the charity network and its artists.

The project's web site, www.GIJams.com, provides the opportunity for military musicians to have their own profile pages featuring their original music, bios, pictures and blogs plus downloads available for 99 cents a song with all profits going to those specific military artists.

The proclamation honor comes just as GI Jams has released GI Jams, Vol. 1: The Original Music Of Our Military Artists, the first in a series of compilation albums to be issued by GI Jams Records™.

The CD is available for sale online at the GI Jams Store, by direct artists' sales and nationally distributed retail locations. All profits from sales of this compilation album go to the artists featured on the album.

"GI Jams, Vol. 1" features 14 tracks by eight of its web site's most popular artists and bands (five on active duty and three who are veterans that served in Iraq, Kosovo and Vietnam). All of these artists performed live in the 2010 GI Jams Veterans Day Weekend Show at The Cannery Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Among the GI Jams Day celebrations, Randell and Schippers will be featured on KTNV-TV's "The Morning Blend" along with GI Jams' artists Joe Speed Band who will give a special live musical performance and footage from the music video by Adrian Manuel while flying his Blackhawk helicopter in Iraq. Randell and Schippers will also be interviewed on popular radio station segment American Perspective.
