LaSalle Solutions Donates IT Equipment and Services to Little City

New Wireless Network Infrastructure Expands Services Available to Chicago Area Individuals With Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

ROSEMONT, IL--(Marketwired - April 26, 2016) - In support of April being Autism Awareness Month, LaSalle Solutions, a leading provider of IT life-cycle asset management services, announced that it is providing complimentary IT support to Little City at its Illinois locations in Palatine, Schaumburg and Chicago.

Little City is a vital and vibrant non-profit community offering a comprehensive scope of services and amenities to children and adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization's mission is to provide the individuals and families it serves with the best options and opportunities to live safely, work productively, explore creatively and learn continuously throughout their lifetime.

LaSalle is helping to expand access to new technologies at Little City through an advanced solution customized to meet their specific needs.

"They were struggling with VPN connectivity, speed and availability, as well as WiFi and network connection at their primary campus in Palatine," said Dave Pfau, lead systems engineer at LaSalle Solutions and a member of the Little City board of directors. "We had an opportunity to offer a Cisco Meraki technology solution that would address those needs and better connect their locations."

LaSalle is in the process of completing the implementation of secure network gateways at all Little City locations, with Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity between the offices and Wide Area Network (WAN) aggregation to accommodate separate internet service providers. When finished, the new wireless infrastructure will extend network connectivity into Little City's classrooms, service areas and offices, improving communication and collaboration across campuses.

"We wanted to help Little City in a way that utilized our strengths as a company," said Steven Robb, president of the solutions group at LaSalle Solutions. "They are doing amazing things to help so many individuals and families, but they don't have the engineers and developers to implement this kind of solution on their own. This was a great way for us to use our expertise for a great cause. We are proud to support them."

LaSalle hopes that the new technology will help the children and adults of Little City reach their fullest potential. As Apple showed earlier this month, new advances in technology are giving those on the autism spectrum a new way to share their unique experiences with the world. Little City now has the tools and resources it needs to benefit from these advancements and improve the lives of the people it serves.

"We are very grateful to have the support of a top tier technology company such as LaSalle Solutions," said Larry Heisler, chief marketing officer at Little City. "Being able to modernize our technology capabilities with the help of LaSalle Solutions will help us advance our programs and services in order to best serve individuals with disabilities and their families. Technology is very expensive and something we could not afford to do on our own. We are most appreciative of their generosity."
