Last Chance to Bid on Celebrity Mosaics to Benefit Surfrider Foundation

CARLSBAD, CA--(Marketwire - September 5, 2009) - Time is running out to save our oceans and get one brick closer to your favorite celebrity. There are just a few days left to bid on LEGO® mosaics built by some of today's hottest celebrities for the Celebrity Mosaic Project benefiting Surfrider Foundation. The ocean themed mosaics have been on display at LEGOLAND® California Resort since August 11 and are listed online for auction at until noon Sept. 8.

Celebrity participants include legendary actor Al Pacino; "Lipstick Jungle's" Brooke Shields; model and actress Denise Richards; "Project Runway's" Heidi Klum; Jamie Lee Curtis; Jon Heder of "Napoleon Dynamite;" Mark Hoppus of Blink 182; Comedian Martin Lawrence; "Saturday Night Live's" Molly Shannon; Peter Facinelli of "Twilight" and "Nurse Jackie;" Thomas Gibson of "Criminal Minds;" Blink 182's Tom DeLonge; and skateboarding mega star Tony Hawk.

Mosaics vary in theme from a mermaid created by Heidi Klum to a fish on a skateboard by Tony Hawk, a smiling sting ray by Thomas Gibson and a seahorse built by Denise Richards. Most of the celebrities recruited their children to help in the design and creation of their mosaics.

All funds raised through the Celebrity Mosaic Project benefit Surfrider Foundation, one of the world's largest non-profit organizations dedicated to the protection and preservation of our oceans, waves and beaches. Now in its 25th year, the Foundation continues to carry out initiatives for clean water, free and open access, and the preservation of coastlines through its global grassroots networks made up of all types of ocean lovers.
