POMONA, CA--(Marketwire - October 1, 2009) - Fun for the whole family for a $1?! It's the last weekend for the L.A. County Fair and we want everyone to come and enjoy everything we have to offer. All types of fun can be had at the 2009 L.A. County Fair including exploring Gateway to Africa, swashbucklin' with pirates at A Pirate's Life's, wine-tasting at the Wine & Spirits Marketplace and tasting some of the best barbecue and fried food ever.

Closing weekend is a big deal at the L.A. County Fair, which is why we're inviting Angelenos out to enjoy $1 admission until 1 p.m., $1 soft drinks 1 p.m.-4 p.m. and $1 rides 4 p.m.-7 p.m. These are some of the best L.A. County Fair discounts in our 87 year history. Ranging from African safari adventures to animatronic dinosaurs, there's something unique and fun for everyone.

This weekend also features amazing grandstand entertainment, and performances including Charlie Wilson and The Gap Band, World Champions of Freestyle Motocross, Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd and Saliva. In addition, the L.A. County Fair houses a 70-ride Carnival as well as the famous FairView Farms, home of a wide variety of animals.

Foodies have tough choices to make with the variety of gourmet and not-so gourmet fried food available to them. Options include deep fried Oreos, Pop Tarts, pickles and olives as well as giant barbecue turkey legs, Colossal Gelatos, apple fries... you name it, the Fair has it! Washing the delicious food down is made easy at the Wine & Spirits Marketplace where guests will be able to savor the winners of this year's Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition. The L.A. County Fair is also the home of Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition and features wine tastings as well as a Wine Education Program including "Hot Nights-Cool Crisp Whites" among others.
