Last chance to get rid of old room air conditioners

SUMMARY: Toronto-area residents are urged to take advantage of the final weekend of the Keep Cool room air conditioner recycling program. Since the program launched two weeks ago, 2880 room air conditioners have been collected - equivalent to more than 3 megawatts (MW). This program encourages citizens of Toronto to conserve energy, reduce emissions and help improve the air quality by returning their old room air conditioners. In exchange they'll receive a $25 gift card from The Home Depot.


What: The Keep Cool room air conditioner recycling program - Toronto Hydro encourages Torontonians to retire their old room air conditioners in exchange for a $25 gift card.

Who: Toronto Hydro Corporation, The Home Depot Canada, The Clean Air Foundation, The Ontario Ministry of the Environment and The City of Toronto

When: 10a.m. to 5p.m.
Saturday June 18, 2005 and Sunday June 19, 2005
