Lastline Powers Malware Analysis and Detection Service for NTT DATA Intellilink

Integrated Breach Detection and Intelligence Platform Protects Networks Against Targeted Attacks

REDWOOD CITY, CA and TOKYO, JAPAN--(Marketwired - Jan 21, 2016) - Advanced malware protection provider Lastline™ today announced it will provide advanced malware analysis and detection services for NTT DATA Intellilink Corporation for their security services offering beginning in early 2016. Lastline's malware detection technology and analysis capabilities will contribute to the NTT DATA Intellilink security service suite to protect customers against targeted attacks on public agencies, financial institutions and other connected organizations.

"Attacks are becoming increasingly targeted, with a clear purpose to penetrate the companies and organizations of interest -- through several approaches -- to steal confidential information," said Akihiko Toshikiyo, Senior Vice President, CISO, Senior Executive Manager, Security Business Division, NTT DATA Intellilink. "The techniques used are increasingly more sophisticated and able to bypass more traditional security measures, making it more difficult to protect company-critical data and applications. By offering an advanced threat protection service from Lastline, we can provide our customers with a solution that combines multiple premium security technologies to better defend against targeted attacks with unknown malware threats, which grow in number daily."

"We're delighted to work closely with NTT DATA Intellilink on the integration of our advanced malware detection technology into their comprehensive suite of security services," said Jens Andreassen, CEO, Lastline. "Our cloud-based malware analysis system provides valuable data for use by any organization's IT administrators. Lastline's technology is crucial to protecting business-critical data from targeted attacks. Implementing NTT DATA Intellilink's managed service with Lastline's malware protection technology is a smart IT security strategy for today's security-aware enterprise."

The NTT DATA Intellilink security service identifies a suspicious file in the communication data, performs primary inspection at the sensor and forwards the file to the accurate malware analysis engine installed in NTT DATA Intellilink's SOC. There, a more detailed analysis is performed and can be reviewed from a Web portal.

Features of NTT DATA Intellilink's managed security service offering include:

  • Sensor monitoring and notification in case of connection failure.
  • Alert monitoring and notification when malware is detected.
  • Alert analysis that reports summary information of malware analysis.
  • Inquiry correspondence to respond to inquiries about the alert content.
  • Monthly reports of malware detection contents along with monthly reports on the operational status of equipment.
  • Management portal for referring to data relating to the detected malware.
  • Incident response support (optional).
  • Containment and remediation support when malware is detected (optional).

NTT DATA Intellilink anticipates their managed security service utilizing Lastline technology will generate up to one billion Yen by 2019 (about $8.1 million USD).
