Latest Michael Buble Tour Rockets Up TicketNews' February Top Event Rankings

VERNON, CT--(Marketwire - March 5, 2010) -  Coinciding with his performance at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canadian singer Michael Bublé climbed up TicketNews' exclusive Top Event Rankings for the month of February.

Bublé finished with second place ticket sales in February, trailing only the top-ranked musical "Wicked." He was able to improve his position from No. 12 in January due to new ticket sales for his expanded spring and summer tour.

Bon Jovi also made a run to be the top event of the month, landing at No. 3 in February's rankings. The band kicked off its world tour on February 19 in Seattle, WA, and is scheduled to perform the inaugural concert at the New Meadowlands Stadium in their home state of New Jersey. The highly anticipated concerts at the state-of-the-art football stadium are scheduled for the end of May.

The highest ranked newcomer to the Top Event Rankings is legendary rock group The Eagles, which finished fifth for the month. The band will start the 2010 leg of its Long Road Out of Eden Tour at the end of April with three special performances at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA.

Events to Watch in March:

  • Dave Matthews Band is likely to improve its current No. 15 position next month since tickets to its 49-date summer tour went on sale on February 26.
  • Now that football season is officially over, baseball ticket sales should see signs of life. The top contenders to make a splash in future event rankings are the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs, all of whom started their spring training games this week.
  • Paul McCartney is likely to improve his current No. 17 ranking after announcing a handful of Up and Coming Tour dates in March and April.
