Latin American Minerals Appoints Chairman and CEO

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 25, 2016) - Latin American Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:LAT) (the "Company" or "LAT") today announced the appointment of Basil Botha as Chairman and CEO of the Company. Mr. Botha was initially appointed to the board in September 2015.

Mr. Botha brings more than 35 years international mining, marketing and executive experience to Latin American Minerals. Early in his mining career he was involved with Otavi Mining Ltd and was the founder and Managing Director of Reef Coal Mining Ltd. (South Africa), which produced over 3 million tonnes of coal per year. He has extensive knowledge of mining and exploration for a variety of minerals including gold, and has specialized in start-up mining operations, mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance.

Mr. Botha has held a number of executive appointments with companies including President & CEO of Northern Iron Corp, President and CEO of G4G Resources, President & CEO of Pitchblack Resources (formerly Cash Minerals Ltd.) and Chairman of Lithium Americas Inc.
