L'Auberge Carmel Receives High Honors in Travel + Leisure's Annual World's Best Hotels Award

L'Auberge Carmel Recognized Among the World's Best Hotels

CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 13, 2011) - L'Auberge Carmel, a prestigious member of Relais & Chateaux, with over 500 charming hotels and gourmet restaurants in 60 countries, is proud to be honored with a Travel + Leisure's World's Best Hotel award. A previous recipient of the Travel + Leisure's top 500 Hotels, L'Auberge Carmel is particularly honored to be a reader favorite this year.

Travel + Leisure, one of the most respected travel magazines in the industry developed a questionnaire for readers to rank their favorite hotels, resorts, cruises, airlines, islands and much more. This is L'Auberge Carmel's second time in the World's Best Hotel Awards. The hotel previously received this honor in 2007.

Aubergine, the inn's highly acclaimed restaurant, showcases Chef de Cuisine Justin Cogley and Executive Pastry Chef Ron Mendoza's locally sourced and highly seasonal, contemporary cuisine. Aubergine also features an underground wine cellar, carefully procured by Wine Director Thomas Perez, to house the restaurant's 4,500 bottle collection.
