Launch Announcement: Chicago Mayor Daley to Speak at Green Fleet Conference

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 7, 2009) - The Green Fleet Conference, the must-attend conference for commercial and public sector fleet managers, today announced that Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley will be a featured speaker at its conference.

Mayor Daley will provide the opening presentation on the second day of the conference, Oct. 20 from 8:30-9 a.m. His address, "Implementing Chicago's Climate Action Plan to Reduce Transportation's Carbon Footprint," will draw upon the city's comprehensive "roadmap" to achieve an 80-percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels by 2050.

"We're delighted Mayor Daley will participate in the Green Fleet Conference program. As the leader of Chicago's pioneering environmental efforts, his comments will provide a valuable confirmation of the importance of the fleet industry's green future," said Mike Antich, conference chair and associate publisher of Automotive Fleet and Government Fleet magazines.

Presenting solutions and resources to help fleet managers continue environmental initiatives in budget-challenged times, the two-day conference takes place at the Chicago Hyatt Regency, Oct. 19-20.

The conference will also offer attendees networking opportunities and an exhibit space featuring products and services to help fleets green their vehicles and operations.
