Launch of the Disraeli Marina Redevelopment Project

The Municipality of Disraeli is getting ready for the redevelopment work that will boost tourism in the Des Appalaches RCM.

DISRAELI, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 13, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Member of Parliament for Shefford, Pierre Breton, on behalf of the Honorable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada for the Quebec Regions, visited Disraeli to announce the launch of the marina redevelopment project. He took the opportunity to point out that CED provided funding to carry out the project.

The financial assistance was announced in February 2016 and amounts to $1,333,840. It has been awarded as a non-repayable contribution under the Canadian Initiative for the Economic Diversification of Communities Reliant on Chrysotile.

CED is one of six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, the Honorable Navdeep Bains.

Quick facts

  • Located in the heart of downtown and along the shores of Aylmer Lake, the marina is extremely popular in the area. Its docks are completely rented out every summer.
  • The funding awarded will help to revitalize and redevelop the Disraeli marina area, making it a must-see for recreational boaters, and making the town a tourist destination in the area.
  • To achieve this goal, the town intends to optimize traffic around the site, reorganize parking, build a boardwalk and a public space, enhance the site by developing distinctive features, and add 16 new docks.
