Law Enforcement Associates Receives FCC Certification for Recently Introduced PDT Digital Audio System

RALEIGH, NC--(Marketwire - September 21, 2010) -  Law Enforcement Associates Corporation (LEA) (OTCBB: LAWE), a leading U.S.-based developer and manufacturer of electronic surveillance equipment, today announced it has received the long-anticipated certification from the Federal Communication Commission for certain components from the Company's new PDT Digital Audio line. The product line, which includes digital transmitters and receivers for use in advanced law enforcement communication systems, was introduced to select customers earlier this year.

The Company said it has received strong customer interest in the PDT line. With FCC certification now in hand, LEA can commence shipping orders and increasing its sales and marketing efforts.

"Secure data transmission is a critical requirement of many law enforcement communication systems, particularly when used in covert and undercover operations," said Paul Briggs, president and CEO. "Unlike traditional analog systems, the PDT Digital line allows for encrypted transmission, and represents a technological leap forward from the communications platforms many law enforcement agencies currently employ."

Briggs added, "Our PDT system also is available at a much more affordable price point than competing digital systems, and is manufactured exclusively in the United States."

LEA will exhibit the PDT system, as well as its recently introduced Previews Video Surveillance System, at a number of trade shows and industry exhibitions during the coming months.
