Law Enforcement Associates Reports Strong Order Volume From Louisiana Agencies Impacted by Katrina

YOUNGSVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - September 11, 2007) - Law Enforcement Associates Corporation (LEA) (AMEX: AID), a leading provider of surveillance and security products to the global law enforcement, military, security and corrections markets, said it has received more than $250,000 in orders from Louisiana-based law enforcement agencies during 2007. Orders from the state are up sharply versus the past two years, and have largely come from departments that suffered substantial losses of equipment during hurricane Katrina.

"Bureaus operating along the Gulf Coast were left without many of the most basic tools required in modern law enforcement," said Paul Feldman, president of LEA. "We made equipment loans to certain hard-hit agencies so they could simply maintain day-to-day operations. After two years, it appears the focus of many departments has shifted from restoring and rebuilding infrastructure to replacement of the systems necessary for critical undercover and surveillance work."
