Law Society Tribunal Decisions

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2007) - The Law Society regulates the legal profession in the public interest.

As part of this mandate, the Law Society's Hearing and Appeal Panels recently heard the following matters. Hearing and Appeal Panels are composed of Law Society benchers - lawyers and lay people who are responsible for determining the appropriate disposition of cases.

Seymour Elliot German (1968), of the City of Toronto

Decision: The Lawyer is reprimanded.

Donna Marie Jones (2000), of the City of Cornwall

Decision: The appeal is allowed. The finding of misconduct and the penalty are set aside. A new hearing is ordered.

Brian Stanley Korb (1984), of the Town of Whitby

Decision: The Lawyer is reprimanded.

Peter Alan Ludwig (1988), of the City of Ottawa

Decision: The appeal is dismissed.

Alan Douglas MacKinnon, (1976), of the City of Pickering

Decision: The Member is suspended for 2 months on completion of his administrative suspension and then indefinitely until he has responded to the satisfaction of the Director of Professional Regulation. The Member shall provide and maintain current contact information to the Society.

Hamidreza Mojtahedi (2002), of the City of Toronto

Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for three months, on completion of his current administrative suspension and then indefinitely until he has satisfied certain terms and conditions.

Lisa Edna Reiten (1997), of the City of Windsor

Decision: The Decision and Order of the Hearing Panel dated December 6, 2005 is set aside and the matter is sent back for a new hearing.

Regina Marie Luyiga Senjule (1997), of the City of Toronto

Decision: The Licensee is suspended for five months, commencing December 1, 2007. Commencing immediately, the Licensee shall not practise real estate law and shall not act on any real estate transaction or mortgage transaction of any kind. Upon resumption of practice, the Licensee will be subject to specific terms and conditions.

Tapishar Singh (1985), of the City of Guelph

Decision: The Lawyer's licence is revoked.
