Law Society Tribunal Decisions

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 10, 2007) - The Law Society regulates the legal profession in the public interest. As part of this mandate, the Law Society's Hearing and Appeal Panels recently heard the following matters. Hearing and Appeal Panels are composed of Law Society benchers - lawyers and lay people who are responsible for determining the appropriate disposition of cases.

Seth Kwame Awuku (1999), of the City of Ottawa

Decision: Mr. Awuku's licence is revoked. Mr. Awuku shall reimburse $21,284.64 to the Compensation Fund.

Maxima Patricia Lubon-Butcher (2000), of the City of Toronto

Decision: The Member is permitted to surrender her licence within 30 days failing which it shall be revoked. The Member shall pay $16,213.49 to the Compensation Fund.
