Lawson Lundell LLP: Winner of 2005 Aboriginal Law Prize Announced

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 10, 2005) - Lawson Lundell LLP is pleased to announce that Christina Smith, is the winner of the annual Lawson Lundell LLP Prize in Aboriginal Law, established to recognize outstanding achievement in Aboriginal Law by a University of Calgary law student.

Christina Smith is a third year law student at the University of Calgary. Prior to commencing her studies in law, Christina practiced in the field of architecture at the Calgary firm of Graham Edmunds Cartier, with a focus on construction contract administration, tendering and field services. Christina was born and raised in the Kitchener-Waterloo area of Ontario but has for the past decade called Calgary her home. She resides in the inner city with her partner Andrew and their dog Malcolm. She is involved with her neighborhood community association and is an active volunteer with the Calgary Horticultural Society.

The Lawson Lundell LLP Prize in Aboriginal Law is administered with the assistance of the University of Calgary. The recipient is an individual who achieves a high standard of performance in Aboriginal Law and is selected annually from the LLB program in the Faculty of Law. The $1500 scholarship is to assist with the cost of completing his or her legal studies.
