Laying the foundation for phenogenomics

Attention: City Editor, Health/Medical Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 2, 2005) - The media is invited to attend the "Laying the Foundation" ceremony to mark construction of one of the world's most comprehensive mouse research facilities - The Toronto Centre for Phenogenomics (TCP).

Dr. Janet Rossant, CEO of the TCP, will further discuss how a broad range of technologies will make the Centre one of the world's largest hubs of genetic research using mouse models and its relationship to the local, national and international research community.

Dr. Rossant will be joined by the Honourable Tony Ianno, Minister of State and Member of Parliament for Trinity-Spadina and Dr. Eliot A. Phillipson, President and CEO, Canada Foundation for Innovation(CFI). Together, they will pour the foundations on this future world-class research institute.
