LCBO Wins Retail Council of Canada Technology Award Deploying QLogitek's Supply Chain Systems

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 5, 2012) -

Attention: Business and High-Tech Editors

QLogitek's customer, the LCBO, won the Technology Award at the Retail Council of Canada's 2012 Excellence in Retailing Awards gala yesterday evening. The annual gala is Canada's premier awards event for the retail industry. It commemorates the industry's most remarkable leaders while recognizing the accomplishments of the year's most innovative retail organizations. This year's gala recognized retailers through 10 award categories, ranging from corporate social responsibility, to store design. QLogitek's cloud-based Inbound Management System (IMS) for appointment scheduling to warehouses and Web Purchase Order Management System (Web PO) for purchase order automation delivered significant efficiencies to the LCBO's supply chain systems. This in turn contributed to cost savings, improved vendor working relations and faster and more accurate availability of products to the LCBO's 624-store network.

The RCC Technology Award is given to a retailer who implements the best use of technology to improve or grow its business. Whether developed internally or in partnership with an outside vendor, the initiative must demonstrate successful results of implementation and a measurable return on investment (ROI). The results of the innovation must include an enhanced process, creation of value and long-term effectiveness. As well, it must demonstrate that the impacts of the change are felt throughout the company and by the consumer. Efforts of the initiative could render customer loyalty solutions, multi-channel software, social media capabilities, mobile initiatives, POS improvements, store merchandise systems, supply chain systems, enterprise resource planning etc. "QLogitek is honoured to be recognized by the RCC as having delivered Canada's top retail technology solution to its long-time customer, the LCBO," said Lindsay Reynolds, Senior Product Manager at QLogitek. "We are proud that our inbound management appointment scheduling and web purchase order solutions went above and beyond meeting the nomination criteria of delivering innovation that benefits the LCBO and their customers."

By integrating QLogitek's solutions with the LCBO's internal legacy systems, the LCBO achieved a consolidated view into its purchase orders and warehouse appointments. The deployment of QLogitek's systems on a cloud infrastructure, with anytime anywhere web portal access, further heightened technology innovation for the LCBO by providing increased availability, scalability and ease of use for its global trading partners including suppliers, freight forwarders and carriers. "We commend the LCBO for having the vision to deploy leading edge cloud technology that we anticipate will play a key role in automating retail supply chain systems into the future," said Di-Ming Nip, Senior System Architect at QLogitek.
