Lead the Change and Walk With the Farha Foundation this Sunday

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 27, 2013) -

What: The Farha Foundation, Quebec's leading HIV/AIDS fundraising organization, hosts the 21st edition of ÇA MARCHE, an annual 7 km walk, in the heart of downtown Montreal, aimed at increasing HIV/AIDS awareness and supporting over 20,000 people in Quebec who live with this terrible disease. This year's focus is on educating and inspiring youth to get involved, and take part in supporting the HIV/AIDS cause within the community. Youth prevention and education programs are represent one of the many programs funded by the Farha Foundation's $9-million contribution to over 76 organizations across Quebec since inception in 1992.
When: Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 9 a.m. ÇA MARCHE Timeline:
8:30 a.m. official opening of the site to the public at Parc Émilie-Gamelin (metro Berri-UQAM)
Registration and donations
9 a.m. Warm up aerobics session with À Pieds Levés
9:30 a.m. Walkers take position along Saint-Catherine St.
10 a.m. Opening Ceremony with singer Colin Moore
10:30 a.m. ÇA MARCHE 2013 starts
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants walk through the streets of downtown Montreal. Activities, snacks, water and surprises are offered along the route!
12:45 p.m. Return to Parc Émilie-Gamelin with Zuruba's Bazilian Tam-Tams performance leading the way.
1 p.m. Closing performance
2 p.m. Closing ceremonies
2:15 p.m. ÇA MARCHE 2013 walk comes to a close, although the fundraising campaign runs until World's AIDS Day, December 1, 2013.
Where: ÇA MARCHE starts at Parc Émilie-Gamelin (corner St-Catherine East and St-Hubert)
