ARMONK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 10, 2005 -- IBM Business Consulting Services today announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned IBM in the leader quadrant in its 2005 Magic Quadrant for North American Supply Chain Management Service Providers*. IBM was also placed in the leader quadrant in this year's Gartner Magic Quadrant reports for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) service providers, in both North America and Europe and in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) in North America.

The Magic Quadrant depicts Gartner's analysis of companies from a specific technology or service market against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner in terms of completeness of vision and ability to execute.

So far in 2005 Gartner has placed IBM Business Consulting Services in the leader quadrant in the following reports:

Magic Quadrant for North American Supply Chain Management Service
Providers, 2005*
Magic Quadrant for European CRM Service providers, 2005*
Magic Quadrant for North America CRM Service Providers, 2005*
Magic Quadrant for North American ERP Service providers, 2005*
"Building and maintaining a responsive, globally integrated supply chain is a complex proposition that requires a broad range of consulting, technology and operational skills that IBM is well-equipped to provide," said Tig Gilliam, Partner and Global Supply Chain Management Leader, IBM Business Consulting Services. "We recently introduced the world's first supply-chain business transformation outsourcing (BTO) offering in order to further enable our clients to transform their businesses, optimize business performance and become increasingly responsive in an on demand world," he continued.

Supply chain, CRM and ERP optimization and management represent a significant component of the Business Performance Transformation Services (BPTS) market, above and beyond the traditional IT market, that IBM is targeting. The BPTS market is focused on improving business performance by applying innovative and sophisticated solutions.
