Leading Analyst Firm Positions LANDesk as a Visionary in Its Endpoint Protection Platforms Magic Quadrant

Placement Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - January 24, 2011) - LANDesk Software, a global leader in systems lifecycle management, endpoint security and IT service management, today announced that it has been positioned in the Visionary Quadrant in the Gartner "Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms" report.1

"LANDesk has worked hard to change the way IT secures endpoint systems with an integrated, easy-to-use solution," said Steve Daly, CEO of LANDesk. "LANDesk Security Suite offers more layers of integrated protection for the endpoint than most competitive solutions. It's gratifying to be recognized as a Visionary. Our integrated mobile management and security capabilities help corporations control and manage the proliferation of mobile devices in their corporate environments."

LANDesk recently announced the latest version of its award-winning LANDesk Security Suite, which includes updated patch management, policy-based enforcement, Device Control Management (DCM) and malware detection removal. Integration within LANDesk Management Suite allows IT administrators to manage and secure their IT environments from a single console. In addition, this latest version incorporates an FDCC Scanner and related content, which enables government entities to scan their desktops for Federal Desktop Core Configuration standards.

To be included in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms, vendor solutions had to be able to detect and clean malware (including spyware, rootkits, trojans and worms); provide a personal firewall and HIPS for servers and PCs; include the ability to centrally manage, configure and report capabilities for servers and PCs and sufficiently support companies of at least 5,000 geographically dispersed endpoints; and provide global service and support.

LANDesk was also positioned as a "Leader" in the recent Gartner "Magic Quadrant for PC Life Cycle Configuration Management Tools."
