Leading Managed Services Provider ETTE Adopts Gridstore Software-Defined Storage Solution

Pay-as-You-Scale Solution Exceeds Performance Goals

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 12, 2013) - Gridstore™, the leader in optimized storage for Windows Servers and Hyper-V that accelerates application I/O up to 500%, announces that ETTE (Empowerment through Technology & Education) has adopted the newly released Gridstore 3.0 software-defined storage solution as an integral component of updating their data protection infrastructure to accommodate their ever-increasing virtualized environment.

ETTE (, founded in 2002, is a minority-owned business providing IT technical support and consulting services to businesses throughout the Washington, DC area. As a leading MSP cloud hosting provider with a focus on educational and non-profit verticals they were challenged with finding a massively scalable and economical modular storage system for their Veeam disk-to-disk backup cloud service. After investigating competitive options, they chose six Gridstore 3.0 12TB capacity nodes for the backup-to-disk hardware component. Because of its seamless ability to scale, the solution will easily accommodate the anticipated +2TB growth per quarter.

"Because it is a pay-as-you-scale solution, it has allowed us to meet and exceed our original cost and performance goals," said Lawrence Guyot, President, ETTE. "In the future, if backups start running long, we will simply add another backup server. As our volume of data grows, because of Gridstore's parallel performance scaling, we can easily add storage nodes to accommodate this growth without impacting perfomance."

Gridstore 3.0 was designed from the ground up to accelerate applications in virtual environments. Unlike traditional one-size-fits-all storage, Gridstore 3.0 leverages their patented Server-Side Virtual Controller™ Technology (SVCT ) to eliminate the I/O blender and accelerate application I/O in three ways.

1. vmOptimized ™ storage accelerators adapt to the applications data patterns to accelerate performance for every application in the virtual environment.
2. TrueQoS™ is the industry's first end-to-end Storage QoS and guarantees the performance of the most important applications.
3. GridScale™ delivers massively parallel performance that scales without performance loss.

With solutions for both capacity and hybrid storage, Gridstore 3.0 delivers the industry's first true end-to-end software-defined storage solution. Both easy to use and manage, Gridstore solutions fit naturally into Windows architecture appearing like local hard drives to the operating system:

  • Admins manage the storage with the tools they are used to and in a manner they do today
  • Existing scripts continue to work
  • Easy to expand the size of virtual drives

ABOUT Gridstore
Gridstore™ is the leader in optimized storage for Windows Servers and Hyper-V that accelerates application I/O. All traditional storage suffers from the I/O blender that severely impacts application performance in virtual environments. Gridstore is Software Defined Storage that uses patented Server-Side Virtual Controller™ Technology (SVCT) to eliminate the I/O blender and accelerate applications in three unique ways.

1. vmOptimized™ Storage provides self-optimizing storage stacks that accelerate I/O for each application.
2. TrueQoS™ is the industry's only end-to-end Storage QoS that guarantees performance for your most important applications.
3. GridScale™ is a simple, pay-as-you-scale grid architecture with massively parallel performance scaling that accelerates application I/O.
