Leading Manufacturing & Trading Conglomerate in Thailand Keeps Its Network and Business Moving With Infoblox Appliances

BANGKOK, THAILAND and SANTA CLARA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 12, 2006 -- Infoblox Inc., a developer of essential infrastructure for identity-driven networks (IDNs), today announced that the Berli Jucker Public Company Ltd. (BJC), a leading wholesale manufacturing, trading and distribution conglomerate, has selected and deployed Infoblox network identity appliances to improve the reliability and reduce the management complexity of its network identity infrastructure.

BJC, established in 1882 and with annual sales in 2005 of Baht 14 billion ($372 million), offers manufacturing, marketing, sales, logistics, distribution and financing services for its many constituents and partners -- including packaged goods behemoths, leading retailers, and renowned multinational companies such as 3M, Dupont, Polaroid, Agfa and others.

Long a part of the Thai consumers' landscape, BJC, which has more than 5,000 employees and controls more than 70,000 square meters of warehousing, is committed to its ultimate corporate vision of establishing a strong brand presence in the Thai and world trade arena. To achieve this end, BJC relies on its extensive network infrastructure, and its domain name resolution (DNS) services are essential to the daily operation of that network.

BJC previously used general-purpose servers to deliver internal and external DNS services. After experiencing reliability and management issues with the previous solution, the BJC IT department determined that a new solution was required to help reduce the administrative burden and improve overall system reliability and security. With the help of Scorpion Holding Co. Ltd., a leading network solution provider in Thailand, BJC selected an Infoblox appliance-based solution. Since selecting and deploying the Infoblox solution, the BJC IT team has realized significant administrative and management advantages, saving IT resources and increasing system reliability while also increasing security.

Lance G. Stanford, CIO for BJC, commented: "Using the old system, patching and upgrades were cumbersome with changes requiring manual updates and there were few options for failover in the event of a system outage. Now, with Infoblox we have a simple one-button upgrade process that makes patching and updates effortless so we can ensure our systems are up to date and protected against potential vulnerabilities. This alone has helped dramatically reduce our administrative overhead so that we no longer require dedicated resources to administer the systems. Further, inherent high-availability features of the Infoblox systems ensure nonstop delivery of DNS services so that the network availability is never compromised by a DNS outage."

BJC initially purchased and deployed Infoblox appliances with the DNSone package to perform external DNS services. After the initial appliances were successfully deployed, BJC purchased additional Infoblox appliances with the DNSone package together with the Keystone upgrade, which provides ID grid technology, to deliver internal DNS services and provide more system redundancy.
